Season Summary : SMV 152 practiced 59 times (132 hours), played 18 events,
84 matches, 190 games with a record of 43W, 33L & 8S, (106 game wins
and 84 losses).
2007 PresFest: 1st in the Sylvan Lake Division

June 3, 2007 tournament at The Edge/M1 Training Center
SMV 15-2
6/3/2007: SMV 152 ventured into Mizuno M1 territory on Sunday, June 3 for a
tournament at The Edge/M1 Training Center. We were seeded 10th out of
10 teams in the 15's and 16's tournament. In pool play we played very
close to M1 16 Black in a loosing effort 18-25 and 29-31. We had our
worst match against M1 15E, losing 10 & 11 to 25. We do not want to
revisit that match. Form there, we won our last match of pool play
beating Sauk Center 16's, finishing 3rd in our pool. We then had the
opportunity for a little revenge on the M1 Club, beating M1 15 Black in
the semi-finals of the lower division and then beating Sauk Center for
the second time in the finals. We improved our seeding from 10th to
7th, won our last three matches, and we did some positive things in
preparation for the Star of the North Games.
The team; Setter Alexa Klunder (Mayo), Libero Marcy Swenson
(Zumbrota-Mazeppa), Middles Sarah Becker (Century) and Emily Maas
(Mayo), Outside Sara Anderson and Anna White (Kasson-Mantorville),
Right Side Rachel Korinek (Home School) and Shayna Navaro (Mayo).
Absent were Katrhyn Kuecker (Century) and Isabella Nascimento
(Lourdes). Coaches, Randy Ayshford and Amir Dzamalija.
Star of the North Games, Rochester, MN
SMV 15-2

SMV 152 played the last tournament of the season at the Star of the
North Games, in Rochester, on Fathers Day weekend. We got off to a
rough start losing all three matches in the first pool, losing to
MacCray 16s, LHS Giants 16's and Lady Lakers 16s. In the second pool we
played outstanding volleyball sweeping the first two matches against
W-K 151 and our own club team SMV 162. The last match of the pool
determined which team would advance to the Silver or Bronze playoff
brackets. We played a great three game match against JCC 16s, winning
the match to put us as the 7th seed in the Silver Playoff Bracket. In
the playoffs we played the #2 seed, Jordan Juniors 16s, in a very
competitive defensive battle, losing 24-26 and 18-25. The season came
to an end with some great memories, a few disappointments, great
friendships, and Dilly Bars at the Dairy Queen for Kathryn's birthday.
